Why I’m doing this

Zid Kim

Who’s asking

I'm a growth engineer in the SF Bay Area who's been building software for nine years. I've spent the last year running a growth lab for early-stage startups. Now I'm building GriffinLeads.

Zid Kim

I'm building a tool to help business owners find more of their best customers, and I want to learn from the experts first.

How do you recognize a great customer? What made your best ones a good fit, how did you find each other, and what would you look for next?

Your answers will shape what I build, and the ten businesses are my thank-you.

What you get

Ten businesses, chosen to match your best customers.

Tell me about a few customers you’d want more of, and what makes them a good fit. That’s the only prep.

Within a week of our conversation, I’ll send you:

  • Ten businesses picked for you. Each researched individually from what you tell me, with your current customers left out.
  • Why I picked each one. What makes it worth a look, with links to what I found, and anything recent worth knowing, like a new location or a hire.
  • Who to contact. The owner or whoever makes that call, with their role and an email or phone number where I could find one.

The process

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick a time.

Twenty minutes by phone or video.

  2. 2

Tell me about your best customers.

What makes them a good fit, how you found each other, and who you’d like more of.

  3. 3

    Get your list.

Within a week, ten researched businesses, why I picked each one, and a contact where I could find one.

If you’d like, tell me which ones you’d call and which you’d skip.

FAQ

A few questions you might have

Is this a sales call?

No. I want to learn what makes your best customers a good fit and how you found them. There’s no pitch.

What do you want from me?

Twenty minutes and a few examples of customers you’d want more of. You can describe them without sharing names.

What happens afterward?

I’ll send your list within a week of our conversation. If you’d like, tell me which ones you’d call and which you’d skip.

Have you already contacted these businesses?

No. I research and select them, but I haven’t spoken with them or confirmed whether they’re interested in your services.

Will you contact them for me?

No. I’ll send you the ten businesses, why I picked each one, and contact details where I found them, so you can decide who to approach.

Can I get more than one list?

One list per business for now.

What industries are you talking to?

Service businesses, trades, professional firms, and other local or regional companies.

Can we meet in person?

Absolutely. If you’re in the Bay Area, I’d love to treat you to lunch or coffee.
